The majority of these employees work remotely, making effective communication systems crucial for the company's operations.
The Challenge
Interwest Consulting Group, a provider of municipal services to public agencies and small cities, faced significant challenges in maintaining effective communication among its remote staff and offices. The company, with 230 employees across nine locations in California, Colorado, and Nevada, had three primary offices in California, each equipped with different PBX systems. The majority of the employees worked remotely, and any changes or updates to the PBX systems required external technical assistance, making administration and management a daunting task. Additionally, accessing voicemails on these PBX systems was extremely problematic, further complicating the communication process.
The Solution
Interwest Consulting Group turned to RingCentral, a cloud communications solution, to unify its communication systems. With RingCentral, Interwest now has a cohesive phone system that has significantly improved efficiency in communication among employees and with customers. The call routing feature ensures that customers seeking local assistance receive the help they need promptly. Even though not all of Interwest's offices have an administrative assistant on site, RingCentral Office® allows incoming calls to be routed to any location or person. Furthermore, RingCentral's fax capabilities across all devices enabled Interwest to eliminate all analog fax lines, simplifying the communication process. The user-friendly and intuitive phone system has also eased the burden on the IT staff, allowing them to focus on other projects and tasks.
