Liftasud is a company that specializes in the distribution and installation of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems. The company was founded over 30 years ago and has 70 employees and seven branches across France. Liftasud has been engaged in digital transformation since 2018, with the goal of becoming a completely paperless company. This involves reducing paper in all departments and optimizing processes in sales, accounting, purchasing, administration, and distribution. The company is a pioneer in this field, with its Managing Director Julien Brunel stating that DocuWare's solution was fully operational during the Corona virus pandemic, allowing their teams to work from home without interruption.
The Challenge
Liftasud, a company specializing in the distribution and installation of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems, embarked on a digital transformation journey in 2018. The company aimed to become completely paperless and digitize all documents across all departments, including sales, accounting, purchasing, administration, and distribution. The project involved digitizing various types of documents such as customer and supplier invoices, quotations, customer inquiries and orders, invoice-related documents, contracts, and applications for vehicle registrations. The challenge was to implement a solution that could handle the digitization process efficiently and integrate seamlessly with their existing Sage X3 ERP system.
The Solution
Liftasud chose DocuWare Cloud for its digital transformation project due to its high flexibility and various integration options, especially with the Sage X3 ERP system. After a pilot phase with four users, the entire workforce started using DocuWare, and the solution was quickly adopted. The solution enabled the scanning of paper documents, digital processing, import into Sage X3, validation as part of digital workflows, and signing delivery notes on tablets. The intelligent indexing feature, the lists that replaced the old paper filing systems, and the smooth synchronization with the Sage X3 ERP system were particularly well received. More than 650,000 documents have already been digitized and archived.

This is what and has driven them to make their projectors IoT-enabled. More specifically, Panasonic has developed a system that collects data from projectors, visualizes detailed operational statuses, and predicts issues and address them before failure occurs. Their projectors are embedded with a variety of sensors that measure power supply, voltage, video input/ output signals, intake/exhaust air temperatures, cooling fan operations, and light bulb operating time. These sensors have been used to make the projector more intelligent, automatically suspending operation when the temperature rises excessively, and automatically switching light bulbs. Although this was a great first step, Panasonic projectors were still not equipped with any capability to send the data over a network.
