The Solution
As part of its five-year sustainability strategy, Stagecoach Group announced the Ecodriver initiative in March 2011, selecting the full suite of GreenRoad products for its bus operations in Scotland, England, and Wales. The GreenRoad system is used to enhance fleet safety and reduce fuel consumption and vehicle emissions through its driver performance and idling performance solutions. Stagecoach drivers across 116 depots utilize GreenRoad to lower fuel consumption and carbon emissions, improve passenger comfort with smoother rides, and maintain high driving standards. The investment in GreenRoad aims to provide customers with greener, smarter travel options and ensure safe and comfortable journeys for passengers. The collaboration with the executive team, employees, and trade unions has facilitated the successful rollout of the system, which is designed to be user-friendly and reward excellent driving.

For Fox and his team, these requirements meant turning to the cloud instead of an on-premises datacenter. “My first thought was to go directly to the cloud because we needed to provide access not only to our salespeople, but to resellers who didn’t have access to our internal network,” says Fox. “The cloud just seemed like a logical choice.”
