About The Customer
Zillow is a leading real estate marketplace that has pioneered the collection and public availability of real estate data. It is considered a single source of truth for information on available homes for sale, home values, and transaction prices. As one of the most trafficked websites globally, Zillow also serves as a popular advertising platform for brands targeting a home-buying audience. The company has 5,000 employees and generates $1.1 billion in revenue. It has 140 users of the Domo platform.
The Challenge
Zillow, a widely-used real estate marketplace, was facing challenges with its media business's billing process. The process was manual and inefficient, involving multiple teams and taking approximately 30 hours a month to send out invoices. The company was looking for a solution to streamline this process and reduce the time spent on billing. Additionally, Zillow was interested in exploring other ways to improve its operations, such as analyzing ticketing data and process run times within IT.
The Solution
Zillow implemented Domo to streamline its billing process. Domo allowed Zillow to schedule reports, reducing the billing time from 30 hours to just three hours without any manual intervention. This represented a 90% reduction in time. Following the success in improving its media processes, Zillow began using Domo to analyze other aspects of its operations, such as ticketing data and process run times within IT. The company set up thresholds on cards that send alerts when a trigger threshold is met, keeping the IT team updated on performance metrics in real-time. To scale the use of Domo throughout the enterprise, Zillow implemented a governance model and designed a self-service learning module using Domo’s CourseBuilder tool.
