The company manages over 1,000 doors and their portfolio includes both multifamily and single-family properties. The company's mission is to help people find a home, which they interpret as more than just providing a property to rent. They aim to inspire a sense of comfort and trust in their residents. The company has been a customer of Buildium since 2016, using the software to enhance their operations and service delivery.
The Challenge
Abbeyhill Realty & Management, a property management company, was facing challenges in maintaining transparency and efficiency in their operations. The company's mission was to provide more than just a property to rent, but also to inspire a sense of comfort and trust in their residents. However, the inherent uncertainty in property management was making it difficult for them to reflect this mission in their services. The company needed a smarter, more efficient way to handle their books and to ensure that their residents were getting all the necessary information. They also needed a reliable method to prove compliance as the business grew. In 2016, the company decided to tackle these challenges head-on.
The Solution
To address these challenges, Abbeyhill Realty & Management turned to Buildium, a property management software. The company used the purpose-built accounting and analytics tools within Buildium to move away from traditional ledgers and recordkeeping. The account management features allowed the team to track each transaction with both clarity and detail, enabling them to identify any issues early and stay compliant. The reporting features of Buildium allowed the company to extend the same transparency to their clients, through easy-to-read reports that were customizable by the Abbeyhill team and accessible in real-time. Additionally, work orders could now be tracked and completed with greater confidence and consistency, further enhancing the trust of their residents.

Predictive Maintenance for Industrial Chillers
For global leaders in the industrial chiller manufacturing, reliability of the entire production process is of the utmost importance. Chillers are refrigeration systems that produce ice water to provide cooling for a process or industrial application. One of those leaders sought a way to respond to asset performance issues, even before they occur. The intelligence to guarantee maximum reliability of cooling devices is embedded (pre-alarming). A pre-alarming phase means that the cooling device still works, but symptoms may appear, telling manufacturers that a failure is likely to occur in the near future. Chillers who are not internet connected at that moment, provide little insight in this pre-alarming phase.
