About The Customer
AirAsia is a renowned airline founded in 2001 with a mission to allow everyone to fly. The company has grown rapidly, carrying more than 40 million passengers a year to over 160 destinations in 25 countries, in Asia and the Pacific. For 11 years in a row, it has been rated the world’s top low-cost airline. AirAsia has also been expanding into new lines of business, including technology, logistics, shared services, and travel-related services. The company's rapid growth has led to a surge in new hires across all aspects of flight operations, corporate functions, and technology-related roles.
The Challenge
AirAsia, a rapidly growing airline, faced significant challenges in its recruitment process. The company's rapid expansion led to a surge in new hires across various aspects of flight operations, corporate functions, and technology-related roles. In 2019 alone, AirAsia added more than 6,000 employees. The company was struggling with the task of screening a large number of resumes, assessing candidates' qualifications, and matching them to open positions. The process was time-consuming and imposed a heavy burden on the recruitment teams. Additionally, the company was dealing with the complexity of hiring personnel in different countries and for a broad range of positions, which varied in application methods and volume of applications received.
The Solution
AirAsia adopted the AI-powered Talent Intelligence Platform from Eightfold to streamline its recruitment process. The platform was implemented in late 2019, with resumes for all positions in all locations kept in a Workday applicant tracking system (ATS) that every recruiter and hiring manager could access. This provided a unified view of the progress of filling a position, saving time in coordination and keeping hiring managers fully aware of the progress being made. The platform's AI capabilities significantly improved the efficiency of reviewing resumes and matching qualifications with job requirements. Eightfold's Talent Scheduling wizard also automated much of the process of scheduling interviews, further reducing the time and effort involved in the recruitment process.

Predictive Maintenance for Industrial Chillers
For global leaders in the industrial chiller manufacturing, reliability of the entire production process is of the utmost importance. Chillers are refrigeration systems that produce ice water to provide cooling for a process or industrial application. One of those leaders sought a way to respond to asset performance issues, even before they occur. The intelligence to guarantee maximum reliability of cooling devices is embedded (pre-alarming). A pre-alarming phase means that the cooling device still works, but symptoms may appear, telling manufacturers that a failure is likely to occur in the near future. Chillers who are not internet connected at that moment, provide little insight in this pre-alarming phase.
