About The Customer
Automation Outfitters Inc. is a family-owned business that was established in 2005. Initially, the company focused on residential automation, but it has since expanded to include commercial and industrial automation, with home automation now being a smaller part of the business. Over the past decade, Automation Outfitters has experienced significant growth, adding 16 new employees to its team. The company is an OEM control manufacturer that builds engineered-to-order control panels to operate and power manufacturing facilities. While their industry is very specific, they also provide other services and electrical work. Sharon Evans, who has been with the company for four years, oversees multiple departments including accounting, HR, purchasing, customer service, and the warehouse.
The Challenge
Before the implementation of the E2 ERP system, Automation Outfitters was struggling with their previous software, Global Shop. The software was used by everyone in the company, leading to bottlenecks that slowed down or completely halted their computers. This constant disruption was backing up their entire process, making their jobs more difficult instead of easier. The company quickly realized the need for a replacement ERP system that would streamline their operations and eliminate these bottlenecks.
The Solution
When looking for a replacement for Global Shop, Automation Outfitters started with a long list of vendors before narrowing it down. Sharon Evans, who oversees multiple departments in the company, was sold on E2 for several reasons. She believed that E2 would be easy for everyone to learn and would fulfill all their software needs, with additional features to grow into. The company decided to switch to E2 in 2018, believing it would be more beneficial for their operations. The implementation process for E2 was much easier than the previous one, with the company having learned from past mistakes and having a lot of support and resources when implementing E2. The time invested in training and working with their implementation specialist paid off, and they were able to fully transition to E2.
