About The Customer
CAS Tecnologia is a company that specializes in intelligent automation and telemetry technology. They develop products for the management and distribution of electricity, water, and gas. The company was initially reliant on outsourcing for critical parts of their product design process, which was a significant hindrance to their financial success and future growth potential. To continue growing in their industry, CAS Tecnologia decided to bring all of their design processes in-house for complete control and independence. They needed a tool that could integrate an electronics design process into their existing mechanical workflow, and they found this solution in Altium Designer.
The Challenge
CAS Tecnologia, a company specializing in intelligent automation and telemetry technology, was heavily reliant on outsourcing for critical parts of their product design process. This dependence on another company was a significant hindrance to their financial success and future growth potential. To continue growing in their industry, it became necessary for CAS to bring all of their design processes in-house for complete control and independence. The challenge was to integrate an electronics design process into their existing mechanical workflow. They needed a tool that offered a high degree of control between the electrical and mechanical elements of a design to ensure a correct fit. The products they were developing for the management and distribution of electricity, water, and gas required a high degree of electrical complexity, necessitating a very specific set of requirements from EDA software.
The Solution
After evaluating multiple vendors for their EDA tool, CAS Tecnologia chose Altium Designer as their PCB design tool to meet their unique design requirements. These requirements included 3D previewing, smart and powerful routing tools, a unified design environment, a powerful component library manager, and thorough documentation, support, and training options. Altium Designer's feature-rich and high-productivity tool allowed CAS to increase their product design capability significantly. The tool's strong integration between schematic and layout interfaces led to improved PCB and product design. CAS was able to develop mechanical products in-sync with their electronic counterparts using Altium Designer's powerful Native 3D PCB editing engine. They also linked their existing component database to Altium Designer to easily manage components and their respective part numbers, streamlining the design process.

Smart Water Filtration Systems
Before working with Ayla Networks, Ozner was already using cloud connectivity to identify and solve water-filtration system malfunctions as well as to monitor filter cartridges for replacements. But, in June 2015, Ozner executives talked with Ayla about how the company might further improve its water systems with IoT technology. They liked what they heard from Ayla, but the executives needed to be sure that Ayla’s Agile IoT Platform provided the security and reliability Ozner required.

Predictive Maintenance for Industrial Chillers
For global leaders in the industrial chiller manufacturing, reliability of the entire production process is of the utmost importance. Chillers are refrigeration systems that produce ice water to provide cooling for a process or industrial application. One of those leaders sought a way to respond to asset performance issues, even before they occur. The intelligence to guarantee maximum reliability of cooling devices is embedded (pre-alarming). A pre-alarming phase means that the cooling device still works, but symptoms may appear, telling manufacturers that a failure is likely to occur in the near future. Chillers who are not internet connected at that moment, provide little insight in this pre-alarming phase.

Remote Temperature Monitoring of Perishable Goods Saves Money
RMONI was facing temperature monitoring challenges in a cold chain business. A cold chain must be established and maintained to ensure goods have been properly refrigerated during every step of the process, making temperature monitoring a critical business function. Manual registration practice can be very costly, labor intensive and prone to mistakes.
