The Challenge
Crossroads of America Council, a non-profit organization serving 35,000 youth and adult volunteers in 26 counties in central Indiana, faced a significant challenge when the COVID-19 pandemic forced them to look for ways to cut costs. Nat Baker, the Business Data Analyst for the council, had to take on IT responsibilities in addition to his primary job. Managing the organization's technology was a full-time job in itself, and with over 50 endpoints to manage, Nat needed a smarter, more efficient way to handle IT operations. The challenge was to find a cost-effective solution that could automate and streamline the management of the organization's IT infrastructure.
The Solution
After evaluating several Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) tools, Nat chose Action1. This decision was primarily driven by the cost-effectiveness of the solution. Action1 offers its full solution for free to organizations with up to 100 endpoints, making it the perfect fit for the council's 50+ computers. With Action1, Nat was able to automate application deployment across the organization. The platform's App Store provided pre-installed packages for many commonly used applications, and it was easy to create custom packages for other software. The solution also enabled streamlined patch management through intelligent policies, and remote troubleshooting capabilities. Nat could manage computers remotely in bulk using PowerShell scripts and commands, saving time and providing necessary control over all the organization's endpoints.

Predictive Maintenance for Industrial Chillers
For global leaders in the industrial chiller manufacturing, reliability of the entire production process is of the utmost importance. Chillers are refrigeration systems that produce ice water to provide cooling for a process or industrial application. One of those leaders sought a way to respond to asset performance issues, even before they occur. The intelligence to guarantee maximum reliability of cooling devices is embedded (pre-alarming). A pre-alarming phase means that the cooling device still works, but symptoms may appear, telling manufacturers that a failure is likely to occur in the near future. Chillers who are not internet connected at that moment, provide little insight in this pre-alarming phase.
