About The Customer
Pama Studios is a leading music and film production facility located in southeast Sweden. Founded in 1988 by managing director Magnus 'Maxe' Axelsson, the studio has been a long-time customer of Avid, using their Pro Tools for nearly 25 years. Initially, Pama Studios was largely focused on music production, particularly in the hard rock scene. However, over the years, the studio has expanded its services to include film and TV work, becoming a one-stop shop for music production, film mixing, dubbing, sound editing, and video editing. Today, the studio operates across three separate buildings linked by fiber and produces music for almost every country in the world.
The Challenge
Pama Studios, a leading music and film production facility in southeast Sweden, was faced with the challenge of improving production efficiencies across different market sectors and meeting the future needs of the audio workflow. The studio, which was founded in 1988, had been using Avid Pro Tools from the Avid Artist Suite for nearly 25 years for recording and mixing. However, with the growing requirement for sound editing on film and TV work, as well as high-quality music production, the existing setup was no longer sufficient. The studio needed a solution that could handle multiple projects simultaneously, move easily between music and film and TV work, and maintain the unique sound quality that its clients appreciated.
The Solution
To address these challenges, Pama Studios decided to invest in the Avid S6 console. The decision was made during the rebuild and re-equipment of the original studio in Kristianopel, which included extensive structural work. The Avid S6 console was chosen for its broad functionality, ergonomics, and intelligent studio control. It was installed in the refurbished Studio 3, forming the centerpiece of the control room, alongside a vintage analog desk. The S6 console offered the speed, flexibility, and functionality needed to work efficiently across different projects. Furthermore, the combination of digital and analog technology allowed Pama Studios to offer something unique to its customers, maintaining the sound of the older consoles that some of their music clients preferred.

Predictive Maintenance for Industrial Chillers
For global leaders in the industrial chiller manufacturing, reliability of the entire production process is of the utmost importance. Chillers are refrigeration systems that produce ice water to provide cooling for a process or industrial application. One of those leaders sought a way to respond to asset performance issues, even before they occur. The intelligence to guarantee maximum reliability of cooling devices is embedded (pre-alarming). A pre-alarming phase means that the cooling device still works, but symptoms may appear, telling manufacturers that a failure is likely to occur in the near future. Chillers who are not internet connected at that moment, provide little insight in this pre-alarming phase.
