About The Customer
Avion Technologies, Inc. is a job shop that primarily manufactures complex gears for various industries. The company was using E2 Pro, an older version of the E2 SHOP software, and decided to upgrade to the cloud version in 2019. The decision was driven by concerns about the security of their old server and the understanding that a cloud-based solution would handle security and eliminate the need to keep a server up-to-date.
The Challenge
Avion Technologies, Inc., a job shop that primarily makes complex gears for several industries, was using E2 Pro and decided in 2019 that it was time to upgrade to E2 SHOP on the cloud. The company was concerned about the security of their old server and knew that moving to the cloud would eliminate the need to keep a server up-to-date and ensure that security was taken care of. The transition to the new software was crucial to keep their shop running smoothly.
The Solution
Avion Technologies decided to upgrade from E2 Pro to E2 SHOP on the cloud. The implementation was quick and easy, starting on a Friday and by Monday, they were ready to train everyone on the new software. They were able to keep all their data through the transition, which was crucial for the smooth running of their shop. For training, they used the tutorials provided by Shoptech and the Shoptech Community, an online forum for current E2 users. When they needed specific help, they called into Shoptech for support.

Predictive Maintenance for Industrial Chillers
For global leaders in the industrial chiller manufacturing, reliability of the entire production process is of the utmost importance. Chillers are refrigeration systems that produce ice water to provide cooling for a process or industrial application. One of those leaders sought a way to respond to asset performance issues, even before they occur. The intelligence to guarantee maximum reliability of cooling devices is embedded (pre-alarming). A pre-alarming phase means that the cooling device still works, but symptoms may appear, telling manufacturers that a failure is likely to occur in the near future. Chillers who are not internet connected at that moment, provide little insight in this pre-alarming phase.
