About The Customer
Wave Studios is one of the U.K.’s most successful post-production houses, handling a high caliber of work on a daily basis. This includes national and international TV projects, music videos for global selling acts, and movie credits. The studio has worked on advertisements for Skype, McDonalds, and Samsung, and completed projects like music videos for Kanye West, Madonna, The Chemical Brothers, Lana Del Rey, and movie credits that include Prometheus and popular indie favorite Under the Skin, starring Scarlett Johansson. Seventeen years after the Soho editing facility opened in 1999, it has recently undergone a complete refurbishment, now boasting more than eight Avid mixing consoles.
The Challenge
Wave Studios, a leading post-production house in the U.K., was facing the challenge of improving connectivity across projects and enabling remote collaboration to deliver compelling mixes for film and TV. The studio was also looking to anticipate and meet future needs of the audio mixing workflow. With budgets for post-production projects shrinking across the industry, it was crucial for Wave Studios to optimize their current workflows to maximize cost-effectiveness and productivity. The studio was handling a variety of film and television projects, including national and international TV projects, music videos for global selling acts, and movie credits. Therefore, it was essential to find new and innovative ways of working within the audio industry to keep their offerings fresh and competitive.
The Solution
Wave Studios decided to invest in the award-winning Avid S6 and Avid S3 control surfaces to accommodate the growing requirement for sound editing on TV and film work, and high-quality music production. The studio underwent a complete refurbishment, encompassing a full complement of powerful Avid pro-audio solutions. The scale of Wave Studios’ operation now includes more than eight Avid mixing consoles, including the Avid S6 control surface and the compact Avid S3. The studio also harnessed Avid Everywhere for mixing movies, which allowed them to adjust the standard workflow norms to great dividends. Avid’s sharing and collaboration tools became vital to Wave Studios’ operation, enabling everyone to work hassle-free and share content not just internally, but globally.

Predictive Maintenance for Industrial Chillers
For global leaders in the industrial chiller manufacturing, reliability of the entire production process is of the utmost importance. Chillers are refrigeration systems that produce ice water to provide cooling for a process or industrial application. One of those leaders sought a way to respond to asset performance issues, even before they occur. The intelligence to guarantee maximum reliability of cooling devices is embedded (pre-alarming). A pre-alarming phase means that the cooling device still works, but symptoms may appear, telling manufacturers that a failure is likely to occur in the near future. Chillers who are not internet connected at that moment, provide little insight in this pre-alarming phase.
