About The Customer
A&J Manufacturing Company is a family-owned machine shop that primarily manufactures racks for Navy ships. The company has been in business for a long time and has a large number of different parts that they manufacture for their racks. The company prides itself on finding solutions to challenging problems. The company was using a partially implemented ERP system that was not meeting their needs. They were doing most of the work manually and then entering it into the ERP system after it was done. This was causing issues with finding current and correct data and creating reports.
The Challenge
A&J Manufacturing Company was struggling with their existing ERP system. The system was partially implemented and most of the work was done manually before being entered into the ERP system. This made finding current and correct data a challenge and creating reports from that data was frustrating. The company had a large number of part numbers due to the variety of racks they manufacture. Their old system had around 20,000 part numbers and they didn't want to transfer all of them to the new system if they weren't being utilized.
The Solution
A&J Manufacturing Company decided to implement the E2 Shop System at the end of 2019. They knew it would take a while to transfer all their information into the new system and they didn't want to bring over anything that they wouldn't use anymore. The implementation process was made easier with the help of the people at Shoptech. They had a great trainer and found excellent support from the general support line. Once they started using E2 in their shop, they were happy with the system. It worked well with their size company and did everything they needed it to do.

Predictive Maintenance for Industrial Chillers
For global leaders in the industrial chiller manufacturing, reliability of the entire production process is of the utmost importance. Chillers are refrigeration systems that produce ice water to provide cooling for a process or industrial application. One of those leaders sought a way to respond to asset performance issues, even before they occur. The intelligence to guarantee maximum reliability of cooling devices is embedded (pre-alarming). A pre-alarming phase means that the cooling device still works, but symptoms may appear, telling manufacturers that a failure is likely to occur in the near future. Chillers who are not internet connected at that moment, provide little insight in this pre-alarming phase.
