About The Customer
Established in 2004 and located in Helsinki, The Fried Music is a respected Finnish independent music company. It is founded and run by musician, composer, and record producer Jukka Immonen. The company produces award-winning music for both the Finnish and international markets. The Fried Music is not just a studio, but also the base for a record label with in-house songwriters and producers. The studio's mixing engineer, Arttu Peljo, has been mixing for The Fried Music since 2005 and has had a long-term relationship with Avid through local partner, Soitin Laine Pro Audio.
The Challenge
The Fried Music, a respected Finnish independent music company, was facing challenges in streamlining its audio production and speeding up turnaround time. The studio, which also serves as a base for a record label with in-house songwriters and producers, was in need of a more responsive and modern workflow. The mixing engineer, Arttu Peljo, was responsible for all the studio equipment and most of the mixing. He was tasked with making the music sound as good as possible, with new projects coming and going at a fast pace. The studio was looking for a solution that would not only improve the quality of output but also allow for more automated workflows. The size of the controller was also a crucial factor as it needed to fit into their small room.
The Solution
To address these challenges, The Fried Music invested in the modular, interactive Avid S6 control surface. This solution automated their workflow and enabled a fully connected studio. The Avid S6, part of the Avid Artist Suite and powered by the Avid MediaCentral platform, was chosen for its scalability, interactivity, and ability to fit into their small room. The studio invested in two M40-based configurations of Avid S6, one with 24 faders, 9 knobs per channel, and TFT displays, and the other with 16 faders, 5 knobs per channel, and TFT displays. The Avid S6 also offered EUCON-based networked connectivity, which could control up to eight audio workstations and media applications simultaneously. It could save and recall up to 96 different surface layouts instantly, at any time from the touch screen, making it easy to configure, scale, and reconfigure the control surface.

Predictive Maintenance for Industrial Chillers
For global leaders in the industrial chiller manufacturing, reliability of the entire production process is of the utmost importance. Chillers are refrigeration systems that produce ice water to provide cooling for a process or industrial application. One of those leaders sought a way to respond to asset performance issues, even before they occur. The intelligence to guarantee maximum reliability of cooling devices is embedded (pre-alarming). A pre-alarming phase means that the cooling device still works, but symptoms may appear, telling manufacturers that a failure is likely to occur in the near future. Chillers who are not internet connected at that moment, provide little insight in this pre-alarming phase.
