The Challenge
Sunbelt Rentals, a leading player in the equipment rental industry and the second largest rental provider in North America, was on a mission to provide an unrivaled Customer Experience (CX) for all kinds of rental customers. The company aimed to grow from the number two equipment rental company in North America to number one. To achieve this, Sunbelt Rentals needed a growth plan that could drive and support an enterprise-wide digital transformation, with data at the core of this journey. The company faced challenges in modernizing their data integration efforts and creating a single access point for the business and developer teams to access all of their data assets.
The Solution
Sunbelt Rentals chose the Denodo Platform to serve as their Enterprise Data Hub, a single centralized location that would allow all individuals to access disparate and trusted data regardless of source, location, or structure. This platform was designed to overcome the limitations of Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes. With Denodo, Sunbelt Rentals aimed to make data available faster to all of its existing Cloud and On-premises systems and applications. This was to support their digital transformation efforts and ensure team members have the information they need to better serve their customers. The Denodo platform also facilitated the running of targeted marketing campaigns across customer segments, and enabled the data team to easily connect, combine and deliver data views to business users for quicker insights.

Predictive Maintenance for Industrial Chillers
For global leaders in the industrial chiller manufacturing, reliability of the entire production process is of the utmost importance. Chillers are refrigeration systems that produce ice water to provide cooling for a process or industrial application. One of those leaders sought a way to respond to asset performance issues, even before they occur. The intelligence to guarantee maximum reliability of cooling devices is embedded (pre-alarming). A pre-alarming phase means that the cooling device still works, but symptoms may appear, telling manufacturers that a failure is likely to occur in the near future. Chillers who are not internet connected at that moment, provide little insight in this pre-alarming phase.
