The Challenge
Vaughn Hockey, a leading manufacturer of ice hockey goaltending equipment, faced the challenge of meeting the growing demand for unique and customized equipment. As hockey's popularity increased globally, the company needed to stay ahead of the curve and maintain a competitive edge. The company understood that while the functionality of a hockey pad or goalie mask is important, the shell and overall appearance significantly drive sales. Each product model needed to be distinct and stand out from the competition. The company also offered a retail line of products that allowed customers to submit their own custom designs for their equipment. This required a powerful and efficient software solution to bring these designs to life quickly and accurately.
The Solution
Vaughn Hockey turned to CorelDRAW Graphics Suite to meet its design and manufacturing needs. The company has relied on this software for the past 15 years to create the stunning graphics and eye-catching looks its products are known for. John Merucci and his team use CorelDRAW to turn a goalie pad into a customized work of art. The process of making unique equipment designs starts in CorelDRAW, whether the image was created in the software by the team or sent in by a customer. Once the graphics are finalized, they are output to a laser cutter to create a cardboard template. This template is used to create the patterns and cut the material of the design, which is then stitched onto the pad. CorelDRAW's speed, ease of use, and flexibility have made it an integral part of Vaughn Hockey's business.

Predictive Maintenance for Industrial Chillers
For global leaders in the industrial chiller manufacturing, reliability of the entire production process is of the utmost importance. Chillers are refrigeration systems that produce ice water to provide cooling for a process or industrial application. One of those leaders sought a way to respond to asset performance issues, even before they occur. The intelligence to guarantee maximum reliability of cooling devices is embedded (pre-alarming). A pre-alarming phase means that the cooling device still works, but symptoms may appear, telling manufacturers that a failure is likely to occur in the near future. Chillers who are not internet connected at that moment, provide little insight in this pre-alarming phase.
