The Challenge
Viu, a leading over-the-top Video Service provider in emerging markets, was facing challenges in reaching more app users with intelligent video recommendations, boosting video viewership, and reducing app user churn. With over 10 million users on the app, Viu was struggling to increase mobile app user engagement and reduce churn. They also aimed to increase push notification delivery rates on select Chinese OEM devices. The main challenge was to deliver video recommendations relevant to users’ behavior and view history, and to overcome the push delivery issues on Chinese Devices to reach more users.
The Solution
Viu partnered with MoEngage to overcome the app engagement hurdles. MoEngage identified key areas to help Viu, which included delivering video recommendations using MoEngage Dynamic Content Recommendations, an AI-driven video recommendation system relevant to users’ behavior and view history. To boost engagement, AI was used to optimize message content and delivery timings, ensuring higher conversions from targeted users. To increase push notification reach, MoEngage Push Amplification was used to overcome push delivery issues on Chinese Devices. This acted as a fallback to Google Push Service and improved overall deliverability. Viu also used MoEngage Dynamic Product Messaging, an intelligent product and content recommendation engine, to personalize the push notifications. The Sherpa AI-platform enabled Viu to experiment with message variations, analyzing the best performing variant and automatically increasing the delivery of the better-performing variant, consequently maximizing the campaign engagement.

Predictive Maintenance for Industrial Chillers
For global leaders in the industrial chiller manufacturing, reliability of the entire production process is of the utmost importance. Chillers are refrigeration systems that produce ice water to provide cooling for a process or industrial application. One of those leaders sought a way to respond to asset performance issues, even before they occur. The intelligence to guarantee maximum reliability of cooling devices is embedded (pre-alarming). A pre-alarming phase means that the cooling device still works, but symptoms may appear, telling manufacturers that a failure is likely to occur in the near future. Chillers who are not internet connected at that moment, provide little insight in this pre-alarming phase.
