About The Customer
Fiskeby is one of Europe’s leading packaging board manufacturers, with a history dating back to 1637. It is the only company in Scandinavia that manufactures packaging board made of 100% recovered fiber. All its products, including its Multiboard, are manufactured in an eco-friendly and sustainable manner to protect Earth’s resources for future generations. The company is headquartered in Norrköping, Sweden. Fiskeby’s Dennis Lundqvist is responsible for the control system and automation of projects, and he played a key role in the decision to adopt BricsCAD as the company's CAD tool of choice.
The Challenge
Fiskeby, a leading packaging board manufacturer in Europe, was in search of an affordable and efficient design tool for its industrial process equipment. The company, which is committed to eco-friendly and sustainable manufacturing, needed a solution that would not only be cost-effective but also seamlessly integrate with its existing systems. The challenge was to find a tool that would offer a smooth transition, minimizing disruption to the company's operations. The tool also needed to be reliable, with minimal bugs, and offer excellent support to ensure uninterrupted operations.
The Solution
Fiskeby chose BricsCAD as its design tool of choice due to its affordability, licensing, and integration with Insyde, a Swedish documentation tool developer. After a brief adjustment period, the Fiskeby team began to identify the advantages of using BricsCAD. The tool proved to be fast and reliable, with Lundqvist, responsible for the control system and automation of projects at Fiskeby, stating that it had no bugs. The network licenses offered by BricsCAD float across the corporate network, providing flexibility and ease of use. The tool also comes with an excellent support knowledge base, ensuring that any issues can be quickly resolved. Looking ahead, the company is also considering integrating other 3D technologies into its operations.

Predictive Maintenance for Industrial Chillers
For global leaders in the industrial chiller manufacturing, reliability of the entire production process is of the utmost importance. Chillers are refrigeration systems that produce ice water to provide cooling for a process or industrial application. One of those leaders sought a way to respond to asset performance issues, even before they occur. The intelligence to guarantee maximum reliability of cooling devices is embedded (pre-alarming). A pre-alarming phase means that the cooling device still works, but symptoms may appear, telling manufacturers that a failure is likely to occur in the near future. Chillers who are not internet connected at that moment, provide little insight in this pre-alarming phase.
