About The Customer
Blacktown Waste Services is a well-established company that has been servicing the demolition, commercial and residential industry for over 15 years. The company is centrally located to major motorways such as the M7, M2, and M4, making it easily accessible to major works and generating high demand for their services across the Western Sydney Region. The company prides itself on its personal touch and has a diverse team ranging from 19 to 62 years old. With over 50 pieces of plant and 20 workers, the company was heavily reliant on paper-based processes for managing the compliance of their operators and equipment.
The Challenge
Blacktown Waste Services, a company with over 15 years of experience in the demolition, commercial and residential industry, was facing operational inefficiencies due to its paper-based system for managing compliance of operators and equipment. With over 50 pieces of plant and 20 workers, the process was not only cumbersome but also prone to errors and loss of crucial safety forms and checklists. The checklists, crucial for the operation of their machines, were often lost, soaked from the rain or left behind in the yard. This led to increased downtime as drivers had to return to the yard for any forgotten paperwork. Additionally, the company was struggling with time-consuming collection and processing of timesheets, which were also managed manually.
The Solution
Blacktown Waste Services implemented Assignar, a digital platform recommended by their equipment supplier, Earthmoving Equipment Australia (EEA). Assignar provided a mobile app where all safety documentation and machine checklists could be easily accessed. The machine checklist was color-coded to ensure the maintenance team was on schedule for all required work. The implementation of digital timesheets allowed operators and drivers to submit their timesheets on the mobile app, which reflected on the admin dashboard in the office in real-time. This provided better tracking and insight into the operations of machines and crew, eliminating the need to chase up paperwork. The company rolled out Assignar to their team via a toolbox talk, ensuring it was simple and easy for everybody to use, regardless of their age or tech-savviness.

Predictive Maintenance for Industrial Chillers
For global leaders in the industrial chiller manufacturing, reliability of the entire production process is of the utmost importance. Chillers are refrigeration systems that produce ice water to provide cooling for a process or industrial application. One of those leaders sought a way to respond to asset performance issues, even before they occur. The intelligence to guarantee maximum reliability of cooling devices is embedded (pre-alarming). A pre-alarming phase means that the cooling device still works, but symptoms may appear, telling manufacturers that a failure is likely to occur in the near future. Chillers who are not internet connected at that moment, provide little insight in this pre-alarming phase.
