关于客户
Accuride Corporation, headquartered in Evansville, Indiana, is a leading supplier of wheels and wheel-end components to the North American and European commercial vehicle markets. The company serves all major segments of the commercial vehicle market, including manufacturers of heavy-duty and medium-duty trucks, commercial trailers, light trucks, buses, as well as specialty and military vehicles. Accuride's products are manufactured in facilities throughout North America and Europe, making it a significant player in the automotive industry. The company has a diversified product portfolio and is known for its commitment to quality and innovation. Accuride's operations are extensive, with a focus on providing reliable and high-quality products to its customers. The company has been recognized for its manufacturing excellence, winning the 2014 Manufacturing Excellence Award from the Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME) for its Henderson, Kentucky wheel plant. With a strong presence in the automotive industry, Accuride continues to expand its operations and enhance its capabilities to meet the evolving needs of its customers.
挑战
Accuride Corporation faced significant challenges in its operations due to the use of seven disparate systems, which made it difficult to get a comprehensive picture of how operations were performing. The company spent a lot of time and resources gathering and questioning data instead of using it to make informed decisions. Additionally, Accuride had a diversified product portfolio that required streamlining with better operational support. The lack of enterprise-wide visibility, decision-making, and negotiating power further compounded these challenges. To address these issues, Accuride embarked on a 'Fix & Grow' strategy, investing over $150 million to restore its core operations to reliable, profitable performance. This included consolidating and upgrading its steel wheel capacity, expanding its aluminum wheel capacity, and implementing common LEAN Operating Systems. However, a critical element of this strategy was the implementation of a new, companywide ERP system to provide a single version of the truth and consistent data sets across all operations.
解决方案
To overcome the challenges it faced, Accuride Corporation implemented the Plex Manufacturing Cloud, a comprehensive ERP solution that provided all the processes required from the shop floor to the top floor. This included supply chain management, production scheduling, quality management, shipping, and inventory management. The Plex Manufacturing Cloud offered a unique approach to licensing, allowing Accuride to pay for the solution as a percentage of revenue rather than on a per-user basis. This was crucial for making the ERP tool available to everyone in the organization. The deployment of the Plex Manufacturing Cloud was broad and deep, with all modules being implemented except for Tooling, which will be rolled out in the future. The solution is live at Accuride's corporate office, its largest steel wheel and aluminum wheel plants, and a secondary aluminum plant. The company plans to deploy the Plex Manufacturing Cloud to its distribution channel, Canadian operations, and those in Rockford to support its growth strategy. Achieving a successful deployment required significant management buy-in, and process mapping and improvement activities were assigned to business process owners to ensure best practice deployment and optimal outcomes for each functional team.

Integral Plant Maintenance
Mercedes-Benz and his partner GAZ chose Siemens to be its maintenance partner at a new engine plant in Yaroslavl, Russia. The new plant offers a capacity to manufacture diesel engines for the Russian market, for locally produced Sprinter Classic. In addition to engines for the local market, the Yaroslavl plant will also produce spare parts. Mercedes-Benz Russia and his partner needed a service partner in order to ensure the operation of these lines in a maintenance partnership arrangement. The challenges included coordinating the entire maintenance management operation, in particular inspections, corrective and predictive maintenance activities, and the optimizing spare parts management. Siemens developed a customized maintenance solution that includes all electronic and mechanical maintenance activities (Integral Plant Maintenance).

Monitoring of Pressure Pumps in Automotive Industry
A large German/American producer of auto parts uses high-pressure pumps to deburr machined parts as a part of its production and quality check process. They decided to monitor these pumps to make sure they work properly and that they can see any indications leading to a potential failure before it affects their process.
