mixi faced performance issues due to burst traffic during peak times, which affected the stability of their services. The operation team identified that the cache servers were causing the problem, as they were maxing out server throughput at peak times. Despite having available capacity, the switches were experiencing drops in throughput. mixi decided to replace the edge switches to address this issue and accommodate future growth.
解决方案
mixi chose to replace their edge switches with the Arista Networks switch series, including the Arista 7048T series, after testing various network switches. The Arista switches were selected for their high-capacity buffer, processing performance, and cost-effectiveness. mixi replaced the existing switches in phases, aligning with the upgrade of their cache servers. The new switches, including the Arista 7048T and 7100 series, were introduced to approximately 500 servers. mixi plans to implement the Arista 7508 Series chassis switches in the future. The Arista switches have provided a stable and reliable network environment, with no equipment failures since their implementation.
