Canada Post is one of the largest postal administrations globally, delivering 37 million pieces of mail daily to over 31 million Canadians. Headquartered in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, the company employs 72,000 people, operates 24 processing plants, and manages 13.7 million points of call and 6,000 vehicles. Annually, Canada Post delivers 10 billion pieces of mail and generates approximately $6.2 billion in revenue. With over 72,000 SAP users, Canada Post has one of the largest SAP implementations in North America, having begun its SAP journey in 2000. The company has implemented various SAP products, including HR, EHS, FI/CO, SCM, CRM, EBP, Event Manager, and ESS.
挑战
Canada Post faced significant challenges in loading data into its SAP solution. The process was time-consuming and costly, requiring third-party IT suppliers to develop CATT and ABAP scripts. Manual data entry from Excel spreadsheets into SAP R/3 led to increased data entry errors. The labor-intensive work processes were not an effective use of employees' time. The Organizational Planning unit needed to load job evaluation points for over 8,000 job positions into SAP, which was estimated to take several months if done manually. Time Management also experienced delays, taking 12 to 16 hours each week to unlock employee records by manually entering data from Excel sheets into SAP.

Canada Post selected Automate Studio after evaluating solutions from several vendors. Automate Studio allows business users or functional analysts to shuttle data between Microsoft Excel and any SAP application without requiring programming. The familiar interface of Excel or Access simplifies the process of interacting with various SAP solutions, including mySAP and SAP NetWeaver, without needing IT support. Canada Post chose Automate Studio for its ease of use, cost-effectiveness, and speed in integrating data. The solution enabled the Organizational Planning unit to automate the loading of job evaluation points for over 8,000 positions into SAP in less than a week, compared to the several months estimated for manual entry. The Time Management team now takes approximately an hour to unlock employee records, a significant reduction from the previous 16 hours.
