关于客户
The Detroit Crime Commission (DCC) is an organization created to prevent crime and facilitate the investigation and prosecution of criminals in Detroit, a city that has been critically impacted by the economic downturn and consistently plagued by high crime rates. The DCC conducts research, assists in investigations, disseminates information to the public, and helps coordinate activities to reduce crime. A major effort of the DCC has been to identify individuals who are publicly known to be engaged in dangerous criminal activities.
挑战
The Detroit Crime Commission (DCC) was created to combat the high crime rates in Detroit, which have been exacerbated by severe budget cuts to law enforcement agencies. The DCC's main effort has been to identify individuals known to be engaged in dangerous criminal activities. They compiled terabytes of proprietary and public crime-related data related to these individuals' activities. However, they needed a way to quickly and easily aggregate and analyze this data to identify and prevent ongoing or planned criminal activity. The DCC had tried other data collection and analysis tools but found them lacking. These tools were only good at collecting a sample of the data, and they did not perform the relevant analyses needed by the Commission staff.
解决方案
The Detroit Crime Commission turned to Datameer’s big data analytics solution to integrate, analyze and visualize the terabytes of data they had collected, as well as the data they continue to collect on an ongoing basis. Datameer had the built-in data connections to several cloud-based data sources they were using, which enabled the Commission staff to quickly and easily ingest data into Hadoop and Datameer for analysis. Datameer also enabled them to easily ingest and integrate proprietary data they had collected in various Excel files. The analysis of the newly joined data helped the DCC to understand how some criminal groups organize themselves, identify relationships between various criminal entities, and uncover insights related to future crimes being planned.

Smart City Public Safety
Amyx+ worked with a local government authority to develop an Internet of Things-enabled public safety strategy. In the current state, vigilance meant manually scanning through potentially hundreds of analog surveillance videos feeds. Manual, costly and ineffective, the local agency desired to transition from analog to digital CCTV, apply computer vision and other technologies to automatically detect potential crime in progress, expedite and streamline emergency calls and integrate with personal wearables to ensure the safety of their citizens.
