关于客户
Pappas Automobil is one of the largest car trading ventures in Central Europe, with 40 locations across Austria, Hungary and Bavaria. The company has been selling vehicles and providing garage services for the past 60 years, with a special focus on distributing Mercedes-Benz in Austria. Today, Pappas Automobil AG has modernized its selling methods, with an online catalog, for ordering cars, trucks and spare parts, that is used 27 Austrian branches. The company is responsible for protecting a large amount of sensitive and confidential data, it uses SSL encryption.
挑战
Pappas Automobil AG, Austria's largest Mercedes distributor and a nation-wide operator of service garages, had an online ordering system that enabled its many branches to order cars and parts. However, the company faced challenges in providing secure, high-throughput real-time intrusion prevention and DoS protection to guarantee continued high availability and secure service provision. The company's initial firewall protection was unable to provide the required security. The company’s network traffic needed to be protected from worms, viruses, and DoS/DDoS attacks, including SYN floods, while ensuring prompt response times and delivery of business critical applications. Continuous disruptions to the network were causing large losses as branches were unable to place orders for spare parts or locate a suitable repair destination – leading to unhappy customers and lower revenues.
解决方案
Pappas Automobil selected Radware’s DefensePro, part of the APSolute suite, for its network in order to secure its ordering system. DefensePro is a real-time Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) and DoS protection device that protects the application infrastructure against known attacks and emerging zero-minute and non-vulnerability network attacks to ensure service availability even when under network attack. Once detected, DefensePro immediately differentiates between malicious and legitimate network activity without requiring human intervention. A real-time signature is created automatically to mitigate an attack while allowing approved traffic to continue as normal.

Integral Plant Maintenance
Mercedes-Benz and his partner GAZ chose Siemens to be its maintenance partner at a new engine plant in Yaroslavl, Russia. The new plant offers a capacity to manufacture diesel engines for the Russian market, for locally produced Sprinter Classic. In addition to engines for the local market, the Yaroslavl plant will also produce spare parts. Mercedes-Benz Russia and his partner needed a service partner in order to ensure the operation of these lines in a maintenance partnership arrangement. The challenges included coordinating the entire maintenance management operation, in particular inspections, corrective and predictive maintenance activities, and the optimizing spare parts management. Siemens developed a customized maintenance solution that includes all electronic and mechanical maintenance activities (Integral Plant Maintenance).

Monitoring of Pressure Pumps in Automotive Industry
A large German/American producer of auto parts uses high-pressure pumps to deburr machined parts as a part of its production and quality check process. They decided to monitor these pumps to make sure they work properly and that they can see any indications leading to a potential failure before it affects their process.
