With a large technical team, Picturemaxx supports 600 applications and over a billion media assets, ensuring high performance and reliability for its clients.

Picturemaxx faced significant challenges with its legacy Infiniband server interconnect, which suffered from poor reliability, lack of visibility, and frequent downtimes. The complexity of the system and compatibility issues with Linux-based card drivers exacerbated the situation, leading to concerns about the long-term viability of the platform. A minor technical issue that resulted in a significant outage highlighted the need for a more reliable and visible network infrastructure. With growing demand and surges in media transactions during major events, Picturemaxx needed a robust solution to support its complex workflows and ensure seamless delivery of media assets.

To address the challenges with its legacy infrastructure, Picturemaxx turned to Arista Networks for a new IT infrastructure solution. The company deployed Arista 7050 Series Switches and Arista EOS® to replace its Infiniband server interconnect. The new infrastructure provided a massive performance increase, latency reduction, and enhanced visibility into the network. Picturemaxx also consulted with Nexenta, its storage software provider, to ensure the new solution met the required performance and reliability characteristics. The Arista switches were set up in an active/active configuration, offering high availability and low latency. The deployment of Arista's advanced Multi-Chassis Link Aggregation allowed Picturemaxx to use all interconnects in an active/active, Layer-2 topology, increasing cross-sectional bandwidth and improving failover times.
