关于客户
The California Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) is responsible for helping local governments plan and respond to various disasters, including wildfires, earthquakes, and terror threats, across California. The agency operates from two primary locations and numerous remote offices throughout the state. With a workforce comprising employees, contractors, and volunteers totaling about 1,250, Cal OES plays a crucial role in emergency and homeland security management. The agency collaborates with law enforcement and first responders and owns a fleet of fire trucks operated under agreements with local jurisdictions.
挑战
Cal OES faced challenges in virtualizing operations across its numerous small and large remote offices. The existing infrastructure, which included blade servers and network-attached storage, was too large, power-consuming, and noisy for smaller offices. Additionally, there was pressure from the state CIO to avoid further datacenter buildouts. The agency needed a solution that could support its applications, particularly its 4-terabyte SQL enterprise deployment, while reducing the datacenter footprint.
解决方案
Cal OES selected the Nutanix Virtual Computing Platform, which provided a complete package of hardware and software, eliminating the need for the agency to build the solution from scratch. The Nutanix platform's compact, SAN-free architecture with high IOPS performance was ideal for Cal OES's needs, particularly for its SQL database applications. The solution allowed for easy expansion by adding nodes to the cluster and offered unified management under a single pane of glass. The agency initially purchased an NX-2000 Series appliance and later added NX-1000 Series appliances, enabling them to consolidate several dedicated SQL servers onto one platform.

Smart City Public Safety
Amyx+ worked with a local government authority to develop an Internet of Things-enabled public safety strategy. In the current state, vigilance meant manually scanning through potentially hundreds of analog surveillance videos feeds. Manual, costly and ineffective, the local agency desired to transition from analog to digital CCTV, apply computer vision and other technologies to automatically detect potential crime in progress, expedite and streamline emergency calls and integrate with personal wearables to ensure the safety of their citizens.

Intamac And Securitas Collaborate To Improve Monitoring Structures
Securitas wanted to give new and existing customers a proposition that was unlike anything they had offered before, a security system that broke the traditional mould but took advantage of the monitoring infrastructure that was already in place, including the manned response capabilities and alarm receiving centres.
