关于客户
HOPUS is an IP network and transit service provider that collaborates with internet access, content, and service providers. The company offers a unique value proposition by promoting a business model where members receive payments for routing traffic and pay a fair price for sending traffic. HOPUS ensures that all members, regardless of size or type of traffic, share the same contract. The company aims to simplify the complexity of private interconnect contracts and provide a fair deal for all involved. HOPUS has grown rapidly since its launch in 2014, now serving 54 members, including major international carriers and content providers. The company is committed to delivering high-quality service with no packet loss and low latency, supported by a service level agreement.
挑战
HOPUS faced rapid growth that was pushing the limits of its legacy network architecture. The company needed a more scalable and higher density platform to meet its service level agreements (SLAs) and provide flexible deployment scenarios. The existing network, built on donated Brocade switches, was insufficient to handle the increasing traffic volumes. HOPUS aimed to deliver the best quality of service while maintaining transparent and predictable revenue streams for internet operators. The challenge was to find a solution that could offer the necessary scale and economics to support its unique business model and growing community of internet service and content providers.
解决方案
HOPUS transitioned to Arista Networks to address its need for a scalable and cost-efficient network architecture. The company deployed Arista 7280R Series fixed configuration switches, which offer dynamic and deep buffering for lossless forwarding, high density, and comprehensive L2 and L3 features. These switches provide up to 12Tbps of wire speed performance and support up to 2 million IPv4 routes with FlexRoute. The Arista solution was chosen for its dense modular chassis, competitive pricing, and high performance with low latency. HOPUS also plans to upgrade its edge network to Arista 7500 switches for more cost-effective connectivity and streamlined management tasks. The migration from legacy Brocade switches to the new Arista architecture has been smooth and non-disruptive, with deep support for necessary protocols and monitoring capabilities.

Case Study
Vodafone Hosted On AWS
Vodafone found that traffic for the applications peak during the four-month period when the international cricket season is at its height in Australia. During the 2011/2012 cricket season, 700,000 consumers downloaded the Cricket Live Australia application. Vodafone needed to be able to meet customer demand, but didn’t want to invest in additional resources that would be underutilized during cricket’s off-season.
