关于客户
The Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust is a healthcare organization in the United Kingdom dedicated to providing community-based care. With a mission to utilize reporting and analytics to increase performance and efficiency, the Trust serves a large number of field-based clinicians who are frequently on the move, visiting clients. The Trust's community services staff previously relied on a paper-based diary system for record-keeping, which required them to travel back to a dedicated base to re-enter information through a desktop PC. This process was inefficient and time-consuming, prompting the Trust to seek a more flexible and mobile-friendly Business Intelligence (BI) solution. The Trust's goal was to improve the quality and efficiency of patient care by enabling clinicians to access and share information remotely through mobile devices. With over 6,000 field-based clinicians, the Trust needed a solution that was easy to use, cost-effective, and scalable to meet the needs of its large and dispersed workforce.
挑战
Because 97 percent of Lancashire Care’s business is related to the provision of community-based care, its clinicians are frequently away from their desks – continually on-the-go visiting clients. Previously, the Trust’s community services staff worked remotely through a paper-based diary system of record keeping, requiring them to travel back to a dedicated base to re-enter the information through a desktop PC. Consequently, Lancashire Care embarked on a program to transition the majority of its services workforce onto tablet devices, allowing them to directly create, share and consume information through its online networks remotely. This required a flexible Business Intelligence (BI) solution, which large numbers of non-technical staff could easily utilise – primarily through mobile devices – to independently access and share important client and Trust data. Lancashire Care formerly used Microsoft Reporting Services 2008 R2, in conjunction with Performance Point 2010, as its front-end data visualisation layer for desktop-based reporting. However, Lancashire Care found these tools to be incompatible with mobile devices, and therefore unacceptable for the remote delivery and consumption of data.
解决方案
After evaluating several BI solutions for mobile devices, Lancashire Care identified Yellowfin as the most suitable option due to its ease of use and high level of interactivity through charts and dashboards. Yellowfin supports device independence, allowing services personnel to run and access all core reporting and analytics capabilities directly from their mobile devices without additional training. This ensures that field staff can benefit from fresh data immediately, as any BI content created through the browser is securely available on any mobile device. Information permissions set up through the browser carry over to mobile devices, ensuring personalized and secure information delivery. Yellowfin's collaborative features also enable the highly dispersed workforce of clinicians and managers to stay connected and share insights by adding commentary to BI content. This capability broadens the knowledge obtained from viewing the same information. Additionally, Yellowfin's value-for-money pricing structure allowed the Trust to start small and scale up without significant cost concerns. The Trust also developed a Balanced Scorecard using Yellowfin, which pulls together clinical, financial, human resources, and quality control information to provide a comprehensive picture of current Trust performance to executives, management, and the Board of Directors.
