The company's principal engineer, Ryan Neal, realized that the old system was no longer sufficient as it struggled to return inquiries in a timely manner. The need for a more user-friendly logging solution was evident, as the previous system required developers to build custom queries for sales and support teams, slowing down operations.

Netlify implemented CrowdStrike Falcon LogScale as a centralized log management and observability tool to address its challenges. The solution provided improved visibility across the business and reduced outages, allowing Netlify to handle its increased log volume efficiently. The key feature of Falcon LogScale was its ability to customize logs to accommodate requests from various departments, enabling the operations team to run faster and providing the engineering team with the necessary information for sales and support. During the trial phase, Netlify installed Filebeat to pipe data in parallel to Falcon LogScale, confirming that it could answer the same questions as the previous solution while gaining more information. This solidified their decision to adopt Falcon LogScale, which allowed them to ingest all log data affordably and make informed decisions with speed and confidence.
