Havertys, a prominent home furnishings retailer, faced significant challenges in ensuring accurate and timely deliveries to its customers. With an average of 2,000 deliveries per day, many of which were to new addresses, the company struggled with verifying customer addresses. The existing address databases often returned blank results, and the verification process was cumbersome and costly. This inefficiency not only affected operational costs but also impacted customer satisfaction, as incorrect addresses led to delivery delays and increased expenses. Havertys needed a reliable solution to validate addresses at the point of sale to enhance the customer experience and streamline its delivery operations.

To address the challenge of verifying customer addresses, Havertys integrated Service Objects' DOTS Address Validation - US into its point-of-sale system. This solution provided a more efficient and reliable method for validating addresses, significantly improving the accuracy of delivery information. In addition to address validation, Havertys also implemented DOTS Address Geocode and DOTS Email Validation services to enhance location-based details and direct customer communications. These integrations allowed Havertys to validate over 50,000 addresses per month across 120 locations, ensuring that deliveries were made to the correct addresses. The implementation of these services not only streamlined the delivery process but also improved customer satisfaction by reducing delays and costs associated with incorrect addresses. Furthermore, Havertys developed its proprietary FollowMyTruck technology, which utilizes validated address data and routing software to provide customers with real-time delivery updates and exact delivery times.
